The Devil's Candy

Trailer

Plots(1)

Jesse Hellman (Ethan Embry), a painter who now must sell out alittle more regularly in order to pay off a new mortgage, is plagued by demonic visions. He is literally possessed after he moves into his new home, blacking out and painting a Satanic portrait of children suffering. These children want to be set free by Jesse’s painting, but it’s unclear whether or not that puts Jesse in league with divine powers or Ray Smilie (Pruitt Taylor Vince), a creepy, overweight killer who stalks Jesse’s family because he suffers from similar visions. English The Devil's Candy contains many interesting elements that are evident at first glance, but together they create an even stronger impression. It's the musical component, the visual component, and overall, it's the screenplay that definitely manages to surprise and doesn't bore. Originality in horror exists, even if it's in someone looking at a fairly classic theme in a new way. This is what The Devil's Candy did well. ()
