English The talented André Øvredal, who rose to fame with Troll Hunter, shone in The Autopsy of Jane Doe and entertained in Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, now serves us ancient Norwegian mythology with fantasy elements set in the real world. The protagonist (Nat Wolff) has supernatural powers (he can control lightning), he accidentally kills a boy who's been bothering him, alerting the government and the police and driving him from trouble to trouble. The film has decent visual effects, a leisurely pace and a nice dose of Norse mythology that fans will appreciate, but it comes across as Øvredal's weakest moment. Hopefully his upcoming horror film with Dracula will be worth it again! Story***, Action***, Humor>No, Violence**, Entertainment****, Music***, Visuals***, Atmosphere***, Suspense***. 6.5/10. ()
