“I don’t do public shows, I don’t tell my guys I love them and I don’t fake my orgasms.” These are boundaries that Alice (Madeline Brewer) strictly maintains in the daily hours that she becomes her webcamming alter ego Lola. She keeps her performance work tightly sandboxed from her personal life, as it must be. One day, Alice finds herself unable to log into her account. Someone is already on, using her profile. She hits the site as a guest and discovers that somehow, against all reason, she’s been replaced on her page with an exact duplicate of herself, inexplicably camming from her very home. A duplicate that knows personal things only she could know. And is extremely less guarded about any issues of privacy. (Fantasia International Film Festival)

English A visually appealing and outrageously sexy thriller with an interesting story about camgirl, who earns money by streaming her erotic online show on the Internet, where she tries to succeed in numerous competitions and gain as many viewers as possible. But then a mysterious duo suddenly steals her profile, and thereby her job. Soon they begin to also rob her of her privacy... This film is a remarkable and sympathetically open insight into the lives of young girls, who do not hesitate to expose themselves and in fact carry out prostitution on the Internet with anonymous users. It is filmed surprisingly dynamically, with a sense of black humor and the bizarreness of certain sexual deviations, by very capable creators who cleverly express themselves with regard to the current state of life on the Internet and streaming services. The wonderfully constructed plot is also impressive, during which the protagonist becomes the victim of a devilish scheme which, unfortunately, remains unexplained. Who concocted the scheme and how he or she succeeded are questions that are a mystery left to free interpretation. Which is quite a shame. ()

English Cam offers an original theme reflecting the obsession of young people with success in the competition of artificial online identities and, what’s more, it is technically well made. But that’s why I expected this movie to develop a broader conspiratorial storyline with a more dramatic outcome. In the end, the movie is a rather intimate portrait of the psychological tremors of a teenage character who is out of touch with reality, and I as a viewer unfortunately didn’t find those tremors interesting. English Charming Madeline Brewer incarnates Alice, an ambitious camgirl. Alice aims at climbing the popularity ladder to the top, making great efforts to attract viewers to her online show – even if rather questionable practices are involved in the process. The turning point happens when Alice’s mysterious double is going after her virtual identity. Cam is smart, brisk, sexy and, most of all, a very refreshing horror thriller which opens the topic of webcam erotic services and brings quite a chilling insight on modern internet threats. I don’t want to reveal more of it, and I recommend it without hesitation. [Sitges 2018] ()

English A brilliant portrayal of the degenerate generation 0, to which unfortunately I belong and must cope bravely with the fact that many pretty girls would rather undress in front of the camera than in front of me. The colourful format is fitting and the heroine’s gradual fall into despair and the literal loss of her identity are surpassed only by the fact that we don’t wish her anything good. From a purely logical perspective, perhaps it doesn’t make sense at times, but who gives a damn when they manage to smear major faults and threats of today’s anonymous internet community in such a credible and interesting way. Girls, dress nicely, throw away your mobiles and go back to the village balls, after all, you may end up undressing for the raffle, too. ;) ()

English A neon Kafkaesque tale set in the webcam tease business, it ponders nothing less than the value of the identity of the people who choose to put it on public display and earn some of those virtual dollars. The film is briskly shot, surprising, and as a result I didn't mind that it didn't thoroughly explain why and how everything that happened happened, but dealt mostly with what caused it and how to get out of it (if such a thing is possible).
