Plots(1)

Ever since Findus has had a new mattress, he likes to jump on it wildly every morning – preferably at 4.00 am – waking Pettson up. He scolds Findus: “Either you stop jumping or your bed will be moved somewhere else!” Findus reacts – to Pettson’s amazement – confidently: “Oh, yes please!” Together they convert the old outhouse into a “tiny but big house” for Findus. What Pettson does not know is that Findus is taking the whole thing much more seriously than he is and is delighted by his new independence. Findus’s house is not only a place in which he can jump and play around, but also his new home: he moves in. All at once, Pettson feels very lonely. His old friend Beda tells him it is the way of the world: children (and kittens) grow up, move out and live their own lives. But Findus realises that he needs Pettson and that living by himself is not so great. In the end, being together is so much better than being alone. (Berlinale)
