As a photojournalist, Samir, eats at a roadside restaurant, men storm the place hunting for a girl. He discovers the girl, Gungun, hiding in his jeep and learns that the lascivious village chief is after her. Samir’s good intentions may not be enough to combat archaic customs that still exist in the countryside. (Montreal World Film Festival)
