English The truth is I was expecting a Chinese Aladdin from the beginning. I guess this movie simply could not evoke anything else with its dragon granting three wishes, however, I am actually quite pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. I really did enjoy the whole thing and time flew by. Plus, I liked what the movie was about, and even though it is not really an innovative story and pretty much everything is quite predictable, the likable characters, nice atmosphere/ambiance, and breezy pace just made it flow really well. It is not exactly the comedy of the year, in fact, I only really laughed once (the dragons kissing), however, I still got feel-good vibes at the end. I can sum up the movie in one word: "fine". 7/10. English I’ve come across the word Aladdin in almost every review I’ve read. I haven't seen Aladdin, so I can safely say that I was quite happy with Chinese Pixar. Especially the dragon was fantastic, and it was his lines that provided most of the humor. So yeah, I had fun. 4*+ ()

English Wish Dragon, as a Chinese version of Aladdin set in contemporary Shanghai, has little to surprise in terms of story, but it is a sweet and heartfelt fairy tale about the importance of family and (non)material values with timeless validity, so you can forgive the film a certain degree of predictability and lack of innovation. Long is similarly goofy as the Genie and I really enjoyed his confrontation with the modern world. The characters weren't fleshed out with much depth, but they served their purpose. The plot moved along nicely, and in addition to the funny and action-packed scenes, there were many unobtrusive life lessons. A weaker four stars! ()

English Netflix is doing a pretty good job with animation. The Mitchells vs. the Machines is still the clear winner, but this is a nice surprise. It’s similar to Aladdin, but it doesn’t matter. The protagonist gets a teapot from which a magical dragon comes out and can grant him three wishes. It’s nice entertainment for the whole family. The humor works (the dragon is awesome) and the villain who solves everything with his long legs was top notch. The animation is decent, the characters are great, and it oozes feel good atmosphere. I had more fun than I expected. A nice film. Story- ****, Visuals- ****, Action-***. Suspense-*, Gore-no Humor- ****, Actors- ****, Atmosphere- ***. 8/10. ()
