While Uroš Peric is driving on a business trip to Montenegro, he is caught up in a traffic accident, which results in the tragic death of Besiana, a young girl. When Uroš wakes up in the hospital, he finds out that Besiana was the daughter of the Balkan region’s biggest narcobos, Dardan Berisha. In order to escape the vendetta against his family, Uroš is forced to become a killer for Dardan. Dardan swears a besa – a solemn and sacred oath – that after Uroš has committed five murders (the number of members of Uroš’s family, himself included) he will be free again. Episode 6 (2021) (S02E06)

English The episode really hit the mark for me, even though it was just setting the scene for what's to come. The Serbian creators are just so talented that they managed to deliver not only their trademark fantastic atmosphere but also some pretty decent suspense, hinting at a finale in true Balkan style. It's a tough land with tough people, after all. / Lesson learned: In the Balkans, I wouldn't even trust the walls I'm leaning against. ()

Episode 7 (2021) (S02E07)

English Another great episode. I didn't expect anything less as this creative team consistently delivers top-notch performances. Originally, I was ready to give it full marks, but I had to deduct one star because the internal investigation at Interpol was a let-down. It felt so sloppy that I could hardly believe it passed muster. It was a noticeable, albeit the only flaw in an otherwise satisfying episode. / Lesson learned: Even good decisions can take you from the frying pan straight into the fire. ()

Episode 8 (2021) (S02E08)

English The pisode proved to be another instance where the addition of action scenes wasn't really necessary (though they were there). It was all about the atmosphere, deep contemplations, and decisions. The creators have yet again underscored the idea that in a world of deception, the morally upright are a rare breed. With crooked cops and shady prosecutors, you can only trust the villain, because you can expect them to stab you in the back. / Lesson learned: Don't be a fool, remember Todor. ()

Episode 9 (2021) (S02E09)

English The episode served as a classic setup for the big finale, but it was anything but typical. Unlike the usual setup episodes that tend to drag, this one kept me engaged with its intriguing plot and stimulating dialogue. I'm holding onto hope that the series will deliver a satisfying conclusion, as I've been let down before by other shows. All that's left now is to wait, as Ernö Rubik has already cast the die and crossed the river. / Lesson learned: Brace yourself for carnage. For the locals, it's going to be another Balkan day, just like any other. ()

Episode 10 (2021) (S02E10)

English The finale of the second season promised to be a strong one, and boy, did it deliver. I felt like a victim of theft or fraud as the closing credits rolled. Episode ten built up an incredible, almost depressive atmosphere. It was filled with tension, intricate plotting that kept me on the edge of my seat... and just when everything seemed to be hitting its peak, the season ended. The Serbs really know how to play with the audience's emotions, that's for sure. / Lesson learned: What goes around, comes around in the Balkans... ()
