Sex and the City stars Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, a New York-based writer who explores and experiences the unique world of Manhattan’s dating scene, chronicling the mating habits of single New Yorkers. The series also stars cast regulars Kim Cattrall as PR executive Samantha Jones, who’s seen - and done - it all; Kristin Davis as Charlotte York, still trying to hold on to the idea of happily ever after; and Cynthia Nixon as corporate lawyer and mother Miranda Hobbes, a pragmatist trying to balance the idea of love with the realities of life. Sex and the City (1998) 

English Carrie Bradshaw knows a whole lot about sex and she isn’t afraid to ask! Lucky for her; I am afraid of asking why this foursome always wear such asexual, horrible clothes. Metropolitan forty-somethings, what can you do? You can’t explain to them that life isn’t about pulling a young buck, recalling better times, trying to hook Mr. Big and shopping for one-use-then-dispose high-heeled shoes. It’s watchable (once in a while), although, more than a series, this is an obvious commercial for Fashion TV in a slightly more bearable guise. And dialogs about the vagina, its crisis and their own problems (a great episode, by the way). An average show that went under because the producers didn’t know when to stop and so kept on giving us more commerci... um, episodes without there being any reason for their existence. Because Carrie Fisher told us everything she knows about sex and life in the first three seasons. And that was shamefully little. And with too few revelations. In fact, the constantly shrouded Parker is the biggest minus of the whole series. You wait and wait, but get nothing. ()
