The spectacular life and times of Toulouse-Lautrec, his painting and party-going, his lust for life and sympathy for outcasts and prostitutes, and around him, a sweeping portrait of the 19th century, which he lived through with such style and bravado. (Les Films du Losange)

English The environment of the Parisian bohemian is, of course, an attractive subject for a biographical film about a famous painter, who wasted and squandered a significant part of his life. I just have a feeling that the writers embellished his true story a little and the reality was more down-to-earth. Elsa Zylberstein is my favorite actress, for whom I have a great weakness, and in Lautrec she truly got a great opportunity. That's why I give it a 75% overall rating. ()
