Plots(1)

Based on the true-life exploits of notorious Depression-era bank robbers Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, Bonnie and Clyde is recognized as one of the most violent films to come out of mainstream Hollywood. Bonnie is bored with life and wants a change. She gets her chance when she meets a charming young drifter by the name of Clyde Barrow. Clyde has dreams of a life of crime that will free him from the hardships of the Depression. The two fall in love and begin a crime spree that extends from Oklahoma to Texas. They rob small banks with skill and panache, soon becoming minor celebrities known across the country. People are proud to have been held up by Bonnie and Clyde; to their victims, the duo is doing what nobody else has the guts to do. To the law, the two are evil bank robbers who deserve to be gunned down where they stand. (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment)

English Amoral, rebellious entertainment with a stellar, very likeable cast. At the heart of the film lies the incredible chemistry between Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. It’s something like Easy Rider, just with robbing and shooting instead of taking drugs and having sex. It’s remarkable how the creators managed to treat such a serious topic in such a light and relatable fashion. I’m sure Tarantino loves this film. ()

English Bonnie and Clyde - a priceless story. Romeo and Juliet “gangsta"-style. But we don’t find anything like that in Penn’s offering. Instead of character psychology and motivation, we see just illogical leaps in behavior (We’re gonna rob a bank, want to come along? Sure thing!). And instead of fateful love and mutual, sparking chemistry, it’s a one woman show with Faye Dunaway, who overshadows Warren Beatty so much that it is painfully clear that the movie could have done without him. Plus, in my opinion, the omnipresent “redneck" tone buried a lot of the scenes. It doesn’t matter in principle. It’s just a shame that they didn’t approach it more sensitively. The worst part is the scene with the shootout between the Barrow gang with Blanche running about like a headless chicken with the ax. This is the epitome of movie awkwardness for me. Luckily the works nicely, it has style and mainly Faye who holds everything together, in spite of Beatty. ()

English It's been a long time since I forced myself to watch this obligation, and even longer since I argued about this topic about how overrated it is. However, there is no limit to over interpretation. Why couldn't the whole thing take place in Bonnie's imagination if the key scenes of her meeting Clyde are so subjectified? Oh, I get it. ()

English An excellent gangster flick that certainly had a great influence on the next generation of filmmakers. Faye Dunaway was damn handsome, and Gene Hackman, in perhaps his most likeable role, gives the film the necessary insight and comfort. The ubiquitous gunfights and car chases are depicted rather crudely for their time, and the tragic ending is chilling, sad, yet somehow right and necessary. It’s a shame that only few people have watched it. I can only recommend it. ()

English It's not a movie that would completely blow me away, but it still can't be denied that it has something incredibly rebellious and gangster-like in itself, even though those two were condemned to death from the beginning. However, the story of this pair is immortal, and in this execution with such fantastic actors, it simply doesn't age. ()
