English The story that appealed to me the most was called The Jewelry, by Gustaf Molander. He was inspired by the short story of the same name by the French writer Guy de Maupassant, and he did well. This is a very successful movie, not just in terms of content and direction, but also in terms of acting. Ingrid Bergman and Gunnar Björnstrand, playing a married couple who find themselves in great financial distress, are very convincing in their roles. The other short stories have a somewhat lighter character. I liked the way the creative duo Hans Alfredson and Tage Danielsson handled the theme by Honoré de Balzac. And my favorite Ingmar Bergman, in his more intimate contribution, impressed me with his sense and feeling for art. I probably won't remember the remaining five short episodes for long, because they are a little mediocre. Overall, I see this as a very decent three stars. (65%) ()
