Agatha Christie's Poirot - Season 5 (1993) (season)

The Chocolate Box (S05E06)

(episode)
Crime / Drama / Mystery / Thriller
UK, 1993, 51 min

Plots(1)

Accompanied by Poirot, Inspector Japp is visiting Brussels where he is to receive the 'Branche d'Or' for his services to Belgium. A remark of Commissaire de Police Chantalier brings back memories of a case which Poirot 'failed' to solve over 20 years ago. The very notion is plainly ridiculous - and Poirot amusedly turns over in his mind the fascinating story of the liberal politician and his fateful chocolate box. (iTunes)

English I was quite curious about this episode thanks to the title and I must say that it did not disappoint me at all. The use of the candy box is quite good and it is evident that Agatha always had ideas. The outcome is excellent, but overall it is a very good idea the way it is told - through flashbacks that have an influence on the present. It has already been used in the series, but it won't get boring anytime soon. ()
