The Muppet Show

Perhaps the strangest variety show ever to air on television, the wildly popular MUPPET SHOW helped to spawn an entire series starring Jim Henson's crew of puppet comedians. Combining musical numbers with comedy, THE MUPPET SHOW centered on the efforts of Kermit the Frog and his team of performers to put on a weekly show, featuring both the onstage acts as well as the backstage problems. Each week a new guest star, among the most distinguished entertainers of the time, would appear to participate in some of the skits and assist Kermit in making order out of the backstage chaos.
