Stalin

To an informed fan of history, this French documentary practically has nothing to offer. It repeats what is already well-known and omits important chapters of Stalin's life. In the span of 50 minutes, it is unthinkable to dissect the life of a statesman who dominated one of the most significant countries on the planet for several decades. The film also has factual errors, but they are not significant enough to condemn the film for it. For a viewer who relies on fragmentary information from history lessons, the documentary may be beneficial, so I consider three stars and a 60% overall impression adequate. (15/12/2020)
