Selah follows the Shepherd, a mysterious man who founded the cult she belongs to. All members of the cult are women, labelled either sisters or mothers by Shepherd, and live a life strictly governed by his rules. However, as Selah takes her first steps into young adulthood, her growing bond with the outcast Sarah sows the seeds of doubt, starting Selah on a journey of destruction that will engulf not only her but also the only world she has ever known. Visually, there is nothing to criticize about The Other Lamb. The unsettling atmosphere that accompanies the action also has something to it. However, the behavior of most characters is so irritating that I just can't get past it somehow. (45%)

The Other Fail. A visually first-class menstrual horror / outdated, convulsive feminist fable about liberating oneself from male oppression and finding a female wolf. Szumowská and Englert are a well-matched pair - I would hang that poster somewhere - but I wouldn't frame the terrible screenwriting and bad acting. The occasional glance at the radicalism of the Antichrist and the detachment of the first series of Top of the Lake only highlights how shallowly and harmlessly this lamb roars.
