Utrius

Utrius Pál is twenty three years old and in love with his sister. In the summer of 1914 Utrius is drafted into the army and before joining up brother and sister fulfil their love. War breaks out. All that so far seemed but a bad dream is now mortally dreadful reality. Utrius is kept alive by his letters to his sister. He persuades the regiment doctor to be operated on for appendicitis in order to avoid having to kill. The operation ends in septic intoxication and he dies. In 1994 a young man called Utrius is drafted into the army. The (new) war in Serbia has nothing else to bring to the present-day Utrius then the previous ones to his predecessors.
