Blue Sunshine

Set in a big city, Blue Sunshine is modern thriller about the bizarre madness of a few people whose hair falls out and they start to be rude to “passers-by”. The protagonist searches for the reason behind all of it... This is not a slasher flick, as the murders are kept to a minimum and are not the focal point of the story. The mystery is why all of this is happening. The best thing about the film is the sensitively composed colour palette, as well as the refined camerawork (wide-angle). The work of the rest of the creative team is blandly mediocre. The suspense isn’t aided much by the madmen, who come across more like dumb clowns. The actors are generally the film’s weakest link. The more suspenseful scenes are salvaged by the chilling “creaking” music, which also enhances the film’s interesting atmosphere. (04/08/2005)
