Emmi Kurowski, a cleaning lady, is lonely in her old age. Her husband died years ago, and her grown children offer little companionship. One night she goes to a bar frequented by Arab immigrants and strikes up a friendship with middle-aged mechanic Ali. Their relationship soon develops into something more, and Emmi's family and neighbors criticize their spontaneous marriage. Soon Emmi and Ali are forced to confront their own insecurities about their future. (Arrow Academy)

A beautiful film about how love can flourish at any age and regardless of who the lovers are or who the ones in love are. This is a film without sex, and it really benefits from it. Furthermore, it beautifully portrays how the love between two people can be a thorn in the side for others, as they live only to judge and hold prejudices. The scenes are breathtakingly powerful.
