2071 A.D. Planet Mars. On the eve Halloween, a tanker explodes killing and injuring more than 500 people on a freeway in the crater of Alba City. The damage extends beyond one kilometer from the center of explosion. The use of biological or chemical weapon is heavily suspected. The reward is W300,000,000.00 (Mars currency) to find out the perpetrator. Short of funds as usual, the crew of the Bebop is lured into the investigation by the staggering amount of money they could possibly receive for being able to accurately point the blame. They start a search on their own, and so begins the adventures of the young slacker, Spike Spiegel, and his cohort, the ex-cop, Jet Black, leading their gang of bounty hunters on the trail of an elusive nemesis. Mars on Halloween hides so many new interesting characters and opportunities for fights and shootouts that it turns Cowboy Bebop: The Movie into the most atmospheric, perfectly graded, and possibly best take on the life of these outer space bounty hunters. Spike, Jet, and Faye confirm the differences and interconnectedness of their personalities, and Ed has more great lines and antics than he does even throughout the entire series. That's why this feature-length film can surprisingly work as a standalone movie, but only an informed viewer will enjoy the characteristic outbursts of the main hero and a few subtle references to favorite scenes from the Cowboy Bebop TV series. What can you do – this gang enjoyed their wild ride among the stars right up until the last second.

Spike is a badass in the show and he'll be no different in the movie. I had fun, at times I felt like I hit some dead spots, but you know dreams. I really like how scruffy everything is in this anime, if it was different it probably wouldn't have this charm. Those who have seen the series will have fun, those who haven't will have fun too, it just might take them a while to get their bearings. Are you living in the real world?
