English Usually, I quite like old Czech movies, but it was not the case with this one. Perhaps it was due to the actors, who were not all a great fit for the part. But mostly it was due to the story and the way it was told, which did not dazzle me at all. Karel Roden was, however, excellent and if nothing else, he does not disappoint under any circumstances. English I don't even remember if I read Šlejhar's original at the grammar school, however, this movie did not impress me at all. I admire Aňa Geislerová as an excellent actress, but she didn't fit into this role at all. Roden was great as always. ()
