My First Day (2001) (S01E01)

English The first episode quickly reminded me how much I had always disliked the main character. I've never been a fan of Zach Braff. You'd expect this hate to ruin the whole series for me, but that's not the case. The creators filled the hospital with many supporting characters who are sure to tickle my funny bone, such as Dr. Kelso, Dr. Cox, the lawyer, and the janitor. / Lesson learned: Under no circumstances should you try to pass through solid matter. ()

My Mentor (2001) (S01E02)

English The show has its peculiar charm. The main character, mainly due to the actor portraying him, isn't exactly likable. However, it seems like the creators were aware of this, as they crafted the screenplay and built the humor around fantastic supporting characters. Even in the second episode, they succeeded in entertaining me. I've heard the phrase "dig your own grave" before, but I saw it in practice thanks to this episode. / Lesson learned: Don't annoy the people you can't do without. ()

My Best Friend's Mistake (2001) (S01E03)

English The first two episodes had me rating without a second thought, but the third one made me pause. It felt a bit lacking in narrative, and looking back, it seems like not much significant happened, with fewer laughs than usual. Luckily, the strong cast carried it through. / Lesson learned: I wouldn't pick Erasure either, though I admit it's damn hard to get that thing out of your head. 4*- ()

My Old Lady (2001) (S01E04)

English The fourth episode didn't quite do it for me, even though the Janitor did his best. The others left him hanging, and he struggled without their support. Granted, real hospitals aren't usually fun places, and I don't mind acknowledging that. However, I still believe that a sitcom should primarily focus on humor. When it takes a more serious turn, it shouldn't just be tugging at your heartstrings. / Lesson learned: Be decisive. ()
