1945, Teleki Square. Monori, king of the market recommences his activity. His principle in life: the one who has gold, has everything. He has got it. His daughter returns from Vienna and gives birth to a son. Monori gets rid of his son-in-law at a price of two handful of jewelry and he raises his grandchild with his wife. 1950. The market is stagnating, Monori sells sunflower seeds, waiting. Imi gets diphtheria and his grandfather saves his lives with a golden bar. Marika remarries and regains her son through blackmailing. 1956. Monori wants to send the family of his daughter to abroad with the gold. While organising the deal he is attacked by appendicitis. He trusts Imi with a golden bar to get a doctor. The boy does not know how to deal with gold and Monori dies. (official distributor synopsis)
