Set in 19th century Serbia, residents of the tiny town of Stettle living in fear of an impending plague, naively welcome a colorful traveling troupe dubbed "Circus of Nights." Though Vampire Circus has a conventional subject, it is quite distinctive in terms of plot development for a small Hammer horror movie. A nice old-fashioned atmosphere, a reasonable runtime, a few original scenes including the concluding execution of the main bad guy. A fan of the genre and old-school movies can’t be disappointed. Vampire Circus is far from the routine and clichéd nature of most other Hammer productions.
