Ultimately, unfortunately, it's a pretty average Western about the struggle between Native Americans and whites, even though some sought a path to peace. The finale is classically bad and pathetic, where it just had to be a happy ending and nobody dies. It's a shame, because otherwise it's pretty good, it just doesn't really stand out.
