Filthy (2017)

English The Nvotov sisters are an interesting phenomenon in the society and culture of the former Czechoslovakia. Tereza has now become a director with something to say. I thank her for her work and I am glad that we have another contribution to the issue of psychiatric care for minors.

Downton Abbey - Season 4 (2013) (season)

English It's hard to believe that Season 4 is so modern. Edith writes for the newspaper, Mary chooses between new suitors, and Downton hosts a young relative from Scotland who is a true frog of her time. A visit to the royal court is about to take place, and new blood is bubbling under the stairs... but there are also downsides. Unplanned motherhood, and a racially mixed family. It's as if we've run out of general themes and our friends at the BBC just wanted to remind us that virtually nothing has changed in the last hundred years. After one world war, one world has disappeared and there is no going back. We need to spread our wings and let the modern age flow.

Downton Abbey - Season 3 (2012) (season)

English How good is Season 3 of Downton Abbey, you ask? It goes with the times. The first post-war years are full of changes in thinking, fashion, economics, and in every conceivable aspect of life. It's a joy to see the fashion of the early 20s on members of a high society family. Lady Edith is simply blooming, Mary is newly married... and interesting things are also happening among the lackeys and maids. Everyone has their own little drama or stimulus. There's prison drama and a guest appearance by Shirley MacLaine. If anyone was tired of secession or the trenches, now they will find what they are looking for. Only the final film is different - it has a Scottish flair for a change. Of course, the next season will continue in the style of the Roaring Twenties, albeit in the English style. Anyway, the important thing is that they are already talking about going to the movie theater, not just the circus. ;)

Downton Abbey - Season 2 (2011) (season)

English In Season 2, we lived through the horrors of World War II with the Abbey, several decisive social changes, and found out who was happy to return to the old ways after the war and who wasn't. We also got romance for the master of the house, for the darlings from the world under the stairs, and for many others. Only Lady Mary always pretended that her love life was the most demanding of all. Regardless, one of her sisters had an affair with a married worker, while the other married a political activist. Granny, played by Maggie Smith, got an apt storyline here and there and we all finally breathed a sigh of relief when the Christmas special went well. And now let's move on to the next season.

Downton Abbey - Season 1 (2010) (season)

English It really hasn't been easy to give this series a chance, but years later, after the hype had died down, I found some time for Downton Abbey. I don't particularly go for "good old England," but this is a little extended arm of The Forsyte Saga, The Remains of the Day, and Gosford Park, so it's not all that unique. It's just a nice relaxing nothing. If you like to spend time in the early 20th century, you won't mind this. Next time, feel free to read the same genre in book form and maybe you'll understand the magic of light period reading.

Příběhy slavných - Bróďa (2013) (episode)

English What more can I say? Gossip, gossip, and gossip, friends, 1st wife, 3rd wife, son from his first marriage, and almost no time left for an acting career once again.

Večery s Jindřichem Plachtou (1953)

English A magical edit film with charming viewers... The editing of Plachta's roles from the 1920s is tastefully commented by Karel Höger and glossed by Doďa Pištěk or Eman Fiala. Zdeňka Baldová agrees that she and Hanka Vítová will not count the years that separate them from their roles together. It's all the more gratifying, especially knowing that editing shows have lost their culture in the years since.

Sex and the City - Season 6 (2003) (season)

English Perhaps the only thing I can say about the Season 6 is that it's still going in circles. The beginning of the series is horrible to the point of being unbearable, after which the whole thing turns into a fairy tale that can be tolerated. Charlotte realizes her maternal instincts as a dog lover for the time being, while Miranda moves to Brooklyn with her family (happily ever after), but just before she marries the father of her child, she manages to have an affair with a black man just like in her favorite soap opera. Okay, fine. Samantha finds support and happiness in a monogamous relationship and deals with breast cancer. And since even nuns can have the same diagnosis, everything is perfectly fine. And Carrie? She had a French fling and Mr. Big understood that she is the one (well done!). However, because of this experience, she dropped her Sex and the City newspaper column, and the fairy tale was over. In the end, it wasn't so much about sex, but more about the classic search for that old-world happiness. How is it possible that this premise has been made into two movies and two more TV shows?

Sex and the City - Season 5 (2002) (season)

English I understand that the pregnancy of the show's main star is a reason to cut the number of episodes, but the result really wasn't a happy one. Carrie is willing to keep Mr. Big as a casual lover (what a novelty!), Miranda having a baby and possibly also accepting its father, and Samantha recovering from what could have been a relationship. And Charlotte? She understood that her prince charming didn't have to be handsome, but it was good enough if he was great in bed and loved her. But the most tiring thing is the self-reflection of the whole series because Carrie's newspaper columns inspired the filmmakers in the last season and now she has published them as a book. Boring.

Sex and the City - Season 4 (2001) (season)

English The weaker Season 4 gives us nothing new and continues to go nowhere. Perhaps only the unexpected twist with who becomes a mother is new in some ways. Miranda doesn't want to, Charlotte does, so who do you think it's gonna be? And Samantha? She finally fell in love, a major event for this mature woman. Did anyone ever enjoy Aiden? It's hard to say. An unsuitable nature for Carrie and her emotional turmoil. Lesbians and models? No comment.
