There is one major action scene in the form of a muddy scuffle at Agincourt, while the rest of the film is made up of discussions about war with a chubby Edgerton, a bit of sieging and royal intrigues, where Chalamet very adeptly prepares himself for the role of Muad'Dib in Villeneuve’s Dune. Pattinson is a loathsome bastard (the great scene with the little boys in the forest) and absolutely revels in this role. The King looks like a movie from a different time, old-school but with modern techniques and gadgets. It’s nice to hear a mention of the Czech Lands too. Powerful music.

A solid action romp and probably to best sequel to Terminator 2, but it still smacks of yesterday’s mashed potatoes with a few added ingredients. In terms of story, it doesn’t bring anything new apart from the mysterious Carl and friendly Grace. The action and the special effects are fantastic, especially in the opening scene. Sarah is a bit too much of a caricature and the rescued girl a bit bland. Miller put together the next sequel that we wanted, but the only thing that it proves is that Cameron did the same, but much better back 1991. It’s raining naked ladies again.

The successfully dusted-off "authentic" atmosphere of the original is exploited down to the last snowflake. Precisely cast with an excelling Thornton, a beautifully bewildering story, full of strange characters and random dead bodies is a wonderful homage to Coen movies in general. Beautiful music.

Definitely never going on holiday to South Africa. A somber, brutal thriller. Excellent acting, great direction. A classic investigation into the death of a white girl turns into a bloodbath combining drug dealing with an ethnic purge. A lot of unpleasant things happen (severing limbs, castration by dog), but the most horrifying is just how calmly the characters accept it all. P.S: From now on Bloom should take only this type of role.

A relaxing bite-size snack about how important it is to have a mom. Seth Rogen is freewheeling here, from time to time coming out with a killing joke or an outlandish idea. Him and Barbra Streisand hit it off great together. If I have a daughter, I'm gonna name her Mr. Pickles as well.

The conclusion of the Chinese LGBT romantic storyline is one of the most powerful experiences from a series this year, which is saying something. Mr. Robot reveals his friendly side and what he says begins to indicate how things could end, if anything like a happy ending is still possible at all. The ending with Tyler stretches tense anticipation to the maximum.

I’m bothered by the stylization and the costumes. The principle of the weapon holders should be explained and several other things also seem fairly illogical even in the parallel reality. Thematically, it looks interesting, with the racial problems at level 2.0. It just lacks a fundamental link to the history of the Watchmen; it's simply not enough to just mention a trans-dimensional monster a couple of times and give a fleeting glimpse of Manhattan. I’m curious to see how it develops.

A decent low-budget time-travel flick. Carruth offers an irresistible thought – what if we manage to put together a time machine in the garage – in para-documentary style. Technical explanatory passages, debates about the budget, the first experiment, trying to get rich. Everything seems realistic and focuses on the details. No trick shots; just old-school filmmaking. The ending is very meticulous and even concise, making it even more disturbing.

In terms of visuals, this is a terrific film and the young version of Will Smith is convincing. The action is sweet and takes place in great locations (I keep coming across Konstanz this year). Ang Lee is brilliant. Unfortunately, the story is a classic from the nineties, celebrating its thirtieth anniversary next year. And all it needs is for Henry not to be a nice hit man. Owen is underused and the Smiths play standard roles, but Mary Elizabeth is unbelievably great. She doesn't need anyone, nothing surprises her much and she has clear professional ambitions. Gemini Man is not revolutionary; it's just a good action film.

Steven Knight outdoes himself with every new season. This time Peaky Blinders flirts with National Socialism. The political tenor of the series thickens the atmosphere and adds further unpredictable elements such as the “strong younger generation" = drugged-up inventor Michael and drugged-up jerk Finn. Excellent acting performances and at the end we see one cameo that I hadn’t even dreamed of. The pinnacle of British drama series production. "She said that Gypsies made the nails used on the cross that Jesus was crucified on. That’s why we’re a cursed nation and we don’t stay put in any one place for long. We must keep moving, to stay ahead of our guilt."
