Scare Campaign (2016)

English The film Scare Campaign has a escalating storyline, where gradually you really start to lose track of who's killing and if anyone's killing at all. The main reason is that the special effects here are very good. However, when the killing is real, you can pretty much tell because the special effects are taken to an even higher level of gore. The film delivers what it promises and may even surprise you with. It's not as clever as the authors would like, but it's certainly not stupid.

Most Likely to Die (2015)

English Most Likely to Die isn't a great slasher, nor is it a particularly excellent horror movie, but considering the abundance of horror films out there and the plethora of bad slashers, this one is still relatively tolerable and actually quite decent, or at least average. This is no small feat for a contemporary slasher, although if you're expecting anything other than your average murder mystery, you're bound to be disappointed.

Aftermath (2017)

English Arnold Schwarzenegger demonstrates that he can act, and let's face it, for me, that's pretty much enough in the case of this movie. The story is quite well-dramatized, and Arnold demonstrates how he can handle this aspect quite easily. It's a very quiet film, but the emotions are there, even though they're somewhat suppressed except for a few moments, and it's up to the viewer to infer them.

Fan (2016)

English Well, that was good. Once again, a film where Shahrukh Khan doesn't have to unnecessarily force himself, and if he does, it's only to the benefit of the story being told. A fan who decides to impersonate his idol and goes so far as to try to get rid of him. A superbly escalating film that stands out with its excellent tricks and masks, and above all, with the great performance of Khan in the dual role.

Diamond Cartel (2015)

English Michael Madsen and Peter O'Toole, even before their deaths, that sounds quite intriguing. It's not. They have their classic short barks here, especially in a film that revels more in idiotic digital special effects, which in this case offend me. This had action potential, but there's no action to be had here. Not even the older action guys can make it cool.

Decision at Sundown (1957)

English A subtle western about one man seeking revenge on another because he was implicated in his wife's suicide, even though he himself bears some guilt. It's quite talkative, playing towards a finale that is significant and truly shows that it's not just an average western. Perhaps it's not as action-packed, but in terms of relationships, it's good.

Without Crying (2015)

English A Pakistani romantic film made in the style of Bollywood, though it's not very comedic but rather a serious drama, as the main heroine falls in love with someone she shouldn't. While it's pretty good in the dramatic sequences, the film still failed to convince me of its uniqueness.

Cyborg (1989)

English JCVD is very young in this movie. But he demonstrates here why you like him. He's kicking around, in one moment he's bent over, and he basically transforms into Jesus, but only to kick everyone's ass. Nice retro, which I'd happily watch again sometime.

Ballerina (2016)

English A nice dose of humor, a nice dose of light drama, a bit of sadness, but in the end, a proper dose of happiness, which was to be expected because this film must have a happy ending. The characters are designed too pleasingly, but they just clicked for me, and I was rooting for things to turn out well for the main heroine. The film's setting helps.

1 Mile to You (2017)

English I guess I needed this dose of mild depression and sadness because the movie really resonated with me, even though I was disappointed that Tim Toth, who I was looking forward to, didn't have much screen time. The film is about coping with death at a relatively young age, and it works well, especially thanks to some of the psychological visuals.
