American Violence (2017)

English Denise Richards simply isn't good enough to handle the role of a serial killer expert, just as the "hero" isn't good enough to handle the role of a dangerous or at least interesting killer. However, everything falls apart right from the beginning with the script, which pretends it could be good but isn't, turning it into just a strange romantic crime story.

Miss Sloane (2016)

English Jessica Chastain is a great actress, and Miss Sloane definitely relies on that. It's her who grabs the most attention, actually in all her roles. There are other excellent actors, even some legends, but it's her who shines. It's a pity that the script, which in the end is just a fairy tale, failed to shine similarly.

Justice League Dark (2017)

English A slightly better average comic book animated film that shows that with a bit of darkness added, it's actually watchable. Sure, it's quite light-hearted, but these Dark characters are overall so interesting that they deserve more space than, say, Superman. But it makes me dislike Man of Steel.

Ok Jaanu (2017)

English I almost want to only say again that this is another Indian romance that has all the shortcomings that Indian romances usually have. It's too drawn-out, not much happens, some of the songs would be fine as standalone music videos, and there's a romance that isn't surprising at all, rather expected, and therefore boring.

Trespass Against Us (2016)

English Michael Fassbender is such a great actor that I'd settle for actually just watching him. But a movie should have a story, and this story of one family isn't exactly uninteresting, but here it's just... I don't know, it's intense, but it's also lackluster, focusing on individual scenes, but it’s lacking something more complex.

Wajah Tum Ho (2016)

English It almost seemed like it could be quite an interesting, gritty film, but unfortunately, once again, it confirmed for me that thrillers, when made in India, have a pretty low chance of being really good thrillers. In this case, it failed again and I wondered at times if it wasn't actually a comedy.

Rock On 2 (2016)

English It should be called Rock Off. It's clear that the sequel tries to have some message, but the problem is that it doesn't work even musically, with the songs not being as catchy as in the first installment. The return after years simply didn't turn out well, and in the end, it's just a reheated mess with characters you might not have even liked that much.

Denial (2016)

English Good film, which chose an interesting topic. Where is the evidence that the extermination of Jews in concentration camps really happened? Where is Hitler's order? I know it sounds a bit strange, but there is a quite interesting legal process built around it, in which Timothy Spall excels in a negative role.

Dear Zindagi (2016)

English Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan look good and act well, and the creators know it, so the camera presents them on a silver platter for us. Their debate scenes are actually the best part of the film, and both showcase interesting, believable acting, where it's evident that you can simply fall in love with such characters. Why not?

Force 2 (2016)

English It feels like a weaker version compared to the first installment, which simply captivated me much more. This is just too American. At first, I thought the European settings would be great, but in the end, even they turned out to be rather detrimental. This film should have stayed more in India. The main hero is easy on the eyes, but probably more so for the ladies.
