Lord of War (2005)

English Evil wins and Cage is back in form! This film very realistically portrays the life of an arms dealer who ruthlessly cashes in on social movements and political violence. The pace is brisk, the visuals are breathtaking and the plot is excellent! Thrilling, violent, ironic, stylish and very good!

Eastern Promises (2007)

English Cronenberg shines again! The guy's a genius. It's a gritty tale of crime and redemption with an unusual (hidden) tenderness. Cronenberg uses every possible allusion to develop the story. He draws us into the story, immerses us emotionally to the characters, who are not portrayed as either bad or good. And this is Cronenberg's masterful talent, to show us each character as he wishes, without any preconceived notion, and absentmindedly bringing the audience to play emotionally with them. The sauna scene is clearly the film's highlight. 75%.

Lone Survivor (2013)

English From 40 minutes on, the film is action packed with nonstop brutal war scenes! The tension builds as fast as the clearing of enemy heads. The excellent direction and cinematography ensure a painful trip that will make you squirm like the four main protagonists. Each of them plays their role very convincingly. Mark Wahlberg is sharp as ever, Emile Hirsch is strong and sensitive, Taylor Kitsch decently handles the difficult decisions as the leader, and Ben Foster is terrifyingly cold but compassionate. I must highlight the breathtaking camera shots of the four soldiers falling off the cliff, they were gritty and raw and gave the film a great edge. Peter Berg did a good job with the premise and the execution. After the second screening I enjoyed the film much more, so I raise to 5*. 90%.

Carrie (2013)

English A well done remake! The new Carrie is in the same vein as the original, but I found it brisker, more entertaining and the finale is much more intense and gritty. My only complaint might be with Moretz, who was not right for the role of the shy and ugly little girl, but on the other hand I don't know any ugly, famous and teenage actress, so no hard feelings. For me it's more of a family horror tale for teens that I had a decent time with.70%

Tulpa - Perdizioni mortali (2012)

English The best Giallo in a long time! Hallucinogenic, highly erotic with a deadly adventure feeling and a traditionally mysterious killer, accompanied by melancholic neo-noir cinematography. A visually fantastic feast with elaborate and bloody murders you will never forget!

Society (1989)

English Bizarre as fuck! It should be mentioned that this society includes a lot of strange activities involving incest, perversion and a scandalous feeding scene that will make your toes curl. Great body horror and perfect make-up effects for its age. 75%

Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

English The first half an hour was very uninteresting and boring, but after that the film was solid! Very bold and strong for its time. The shots of the turtle guts were the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. For me it's above average found footage, but it’s a very controversial film and I don't recommend it to everyone. 70%.
