Biography

Josh Duhamel is a rising star on both the big and small screens. Named one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People, he starred as Danny McCoy on NBC's popular one-hour drama “Las Vegas” with James Caan, Molly Sims and Vanessa Marcil from 2003 until 2008, reprising this same role on “Crossing Jordan” guest-starring opposite Jill Hennessy.

2010 was a busy year for Duhamel with the release of no less than four films. Most notably he costarred with Katherine Heigl in a heart-warming comedy about two very single godparents who suddenly find themselves caring for their best friends’ orphaned baby girl in “Life As We Know It,” and as part of the ensemble cast in the Fox 2000 Pictures/Walden Media family film “Ramona and Beezus,” starring Joey King and Selena Gomez as Ramona and Beezus Quimby. Directed by Elizabeth Allen, the film also featured John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan and Ginnifer Goodwin. Together with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin, Duhamel headlined the dramatic comedy “The Romantics” and also starred opposite Kristen Bell in the romantic comedy “When in Rome.”

In 2007 Duhamel starred with Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson and Megan Fox in Michael Bay’s box office bonanza, “Transformers,” which earned over $700 million worldwide and went on to become the highest grossing DVD of the year. Two years later, the group re-teamed for a second installment of the franchise in “Revenge of the Fallen.” The 2009 film’s worldwide gross garnered more than $836, which prompted plans for an immediate third (and possibly final) chapter of the robot series, “Dark of the Moon”.

During hiatus from his series work, Duhamel also starred in the horror thriller “Turistas” in 2006 along with Melissa George and Olivia Wilde, and in 2004 starred in the title role of the DreamWorks’ comedy “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton” for director Robert Luketik (“Legally Blonde.”) Duhamel is also the voice of Oz in Nickelodeon’s animated comedy series “Fan Boy and Chum Chum.”

He can be seen in “Movie 43,” an unusual assemblage of 19 short films, each starring a different cast (from Gerard Butler, Hugh Jackman and Anna Faris to Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet and Justin Long) and directed by a different director the likes of Elizabeth Banks, Peter Farrelly and Brett Ratner, to name a few.

Duhamel landed his first acting job playing Dorian Gray in an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's “The Picture of Dorian Gray.” After the shoot, he moved to New York City to join the cast of the long-running ABC series “All My Children.” Duhamel received three consecutive Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Leo du Pres, and took home the Emmy in 2002.
