Jeff gets kicked out of the group’s Biology class by their reformed prisoner teacher. Pierce who was out of the group takes Jeff’s spot and gets reinstated. Jeff can’t get back into the class and slowly starts to go crazy without the study group. Eventually he takes the high road and allows Pierce to keep his spot in the class and vows to get back into the class and into the group on his own merits. Britta and Troy help Abed cope with his favorite show pushing to midseason. The dean discovers Greendale’s Air Conditioning annex makes 80% of the school’s money and their evil dean is more powerful than he is. Chang joins campus security for room and board when the dean is forced to cut the school's budget. (iTunes)

The third season kicked off in a pretty weird way. The main gripe with the first episode, at least for me, was that the core group got pushed to the sidelines, and Chang stole the spotlight with his hilariously absurd monkey gas inhalation. John Goodman delivered an outstanding performance and looked impressively terrifying. / Lesson learned: Do not inhale toxic gas.
