The Rains of Castamere (S03E09)

It's hardly a coincidence, but the creators are wrapping up the third season in a similar concept to the second, with the ninth episode delivering a bombastic climax. In the previous season it was Stannis vs the Lannisters, here it is a wedding. The whole scene is breathtakingly shot and brutally uncompromising. Certainly one of the best episodes of the series, with a single scene completely drowning out the rest of the episode. (14/05/2017)

The ninth episode was one of the few really action-packed ones. It seemed like a completely different creative team took over its writing and shooting. This time, there was not a single storyline that didn't offer proper action, and the wedding massacre was just the icing on the cake. (12/12/2017)
