The Iron Throne (S08E06)

A decent and very conservative ending to the most controversial season. This time, paradoxically, without a moment of surprise, as everything is at least intuitively clear. Compared to the other episodes, the pacing is surprisingly sterile and deliberate, in a similar vein to the farewells in Lord of The Rings – it is possible that the inspiration came from there. That is, to pay homage to all the key figures and to appear just on the edge of sentimentality, lightness and seriousness. (21/05/2019)

I have finished the final episode and its biggest contribution was that it finally wrapped up all the trouble. Mr. Benioff and Mr. Weiss seemed to have really struggled, and if not, it wasn't evident. The conclusion of the series felt somewhat contrived and brought the story to a point of zero (a strange king ruling the kingdom, his reluctant advisor, someone who was on the Wall is now on the Wall - by the way, for what purpose?, etc.) (15/08/2019)

In the end, a fairly satisfying, very literary ending. About balance and the importance of stories. You can tell that Martin has already thought up the ending and is just writing down the paths that lead there and, as the screenwriters have found out for themselves, its no easy task. When he finishes writing it, I’ll read it. (20/05/2019)
