The seventh season of the critically acclaimed US drama centred around the life of former CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). In this season, Carrie, who now lives with her sister Maggie (Amy Hargreaves) and brother-in-law Bill (MacKenzie Astin) in Washington D.C., struggles to control her temper when Bill starts working for Carrie's administrative opponent, President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). As Carrie convinces Senator Paley (Dylan Baker) to go on record to the FBI about Keane's misconduct, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) receives an offer of a deal to be released from prison and White House Chief of Staff David Wellington (Linus Roache) proposes an air strike on a weapons convoy from Iran to Syria. English Homeland's seventh season was clearly the weakest one for me so far. This was partly because the events related to Carrie's illness seem to be the same from season to season, as well as the constant fights between the sisters. The story being set in the United States also had a large share in my dissatisfaction. I was missing an enemy that I could resent. It just wasn’t the same without the Muslims. Not even the Russian menace could save it. ()
