English "Velká svatba" is not a great movie, but it is exactly the kind of movie that you don't have to be afraid to take your girlfriend to. You will both enjoy it because it is a light comedy that can really make you laugh. I understand that it may not appeal to everyone and some people may claim that it's boring. That's true because the film just repeats other movies, but as a combination, it works. When you need to be entertained, without any obligations or overthinking, this is absolutely sufficient. Moreover, the love triangles that are presented here are truly a beautiful example of how our society is twisted intimately. But in this presentation, it doesn't really matter, although it's true that the film should not be shown to anyone as an educational tool. English I'd seen it once before but had reliably forgotten it, and now that I look back on it, I really didn't need to be reminded of it. The comedy The Big Wedding is teeming with stars, but there's little humor in it, and the story feels utterly bland. Not even the final romantic twist saves this screenwriting fiasco. (35%) ()

English I still find myself wondering why, years ago, I thought this movie deserved two stars. The performances of Diane Keaton and Robin Williams were especially grating. And to top it all off, there was the queen of fake smiles and the wishy-washy Topher Grace. I might have been able to see past all of that if the screenplay wasn't such terrible crap, irritating and boring me with its clichés. The romance and cute moments almost made me puke on Robert De Niro's shoulder. / Lesson learned: Planning to get married?  Suit yourself... ()
