This Portuguese box-office hit of 2011 is an intimate portrait of a Lisboan working-class family ruled matriarchically by Márcia, a woman in her forties. The director captures the generational conflicts between the family members in the claustrophobic atmosphere of a crammed house where he observes his characters in voyeur-like, long and carefully composed takes.
