In season 2 of the Ripper Street you can expect returning characters with more of the same rich storylines that meld with the intrigue of a criminal underworld festering on the hard streets of Victorian London, following the battle of the men whose job it is to bring the law to the lawless. (BBC)

English The series seems to have even more momentum now than in the first season. Season 1 felt like eight individual episodes stitched together by a background story. The second season is more of a continuous story in which there are no separate cases. The plot is well constructed and perfectly escalates in the last two episodes. The grim atmosphere of Victorian London is captured so perfectly it made me feel as if I was drenched in all that mud. The character development was also handled very well. ()
