Plots(1)

An intense drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement as they fought for the right to vote, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State. These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing. Radicalised and turning to violence as the only route to change, they were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality - their jobs, their homes, their children and their lives. Maud (Carey Mulligan) is one such foot soldier. The story of her fight for dignity is both heart-breaking and inspirational. (20th Century Fox UK)

English I like that these movies show difficult periods of humanity. It is also quite well acted, although history has a slightly greater significance here than the individual. The masses prevail here, which is a bit of a flaw in the film. But what is even more peculiar is the fact that similar movies are still relevant, because inequality in society still exists, whether it's between men and women, white and black, Christians and Muslims - it simply exists and cannot be eliminated. English Suffragette is, unfortunately, a very important film. Fortunately, Suffragette is backed by a trio of big names - Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meryl Streep - and so at least thanks to them the film has a chance to fight its way to get noticed. However, we live in a time when many people have gone through primary school and have never heard of suffragettes. Women's suffrage is taken for granted by many women, who are unaware that "little things" such as their other rights, whether they concern children or property, are not automatically a given. After a very difficult 20th century, it is indeed painful to live in today's times, in which people do not know their roots, neither in the individual nor in the main course of things, deeds and actions. Suffragette is not a pleasant watch, but it is very important to think about what you see here. ()
