Well, this was underwhelming. The horror for me was watching the first half hour of the film where nothing was happening. Even sleep seemed like a better use of my time. Once the overgrown poltergeist arrived, the plot slightly improved, followed by the standard illogical actions of the three ghostbusters. The ending was surprisingly decent. Too bad the whole movie wasn't like that. I have nothing against low-budget films, but they need to have good writing. There were a few bright moments in the script but not enough.

The theme of paranormal investigators is something that will work in horror movies only to a limited extent. The Dead Room is proof of that. Not everyone has the budget to make a film beautiful and terrifying with its set design, nor does everyone have the ideas to enliven the story in some way. The makers of The Dead Room have not enlivened it at all.
