The story unfolds in 1950s Baltimore where a group of disenchanted twenty-somethings spend their days in a local diner, talking away their problems. Eddie (Steve Guttenberg) is reluctant to marry his fiancé, Shrevie (Daniel Stern) prefers to spend time with his friends rather than his wife Beth (Ellen Barkin), Billy (Tim Daly) has a pregnant girlfriend who won't marry him, Fenwick (Kevin Bacon) is smart but always drunk, and Boogie (Mickey Rourke) is an anarchic hairdresser with an eye for the ladies. English Two hours of conversation in a cafe? No, it's not that simple, but even if it were, I'm almost certain that Levinson would be able to shoot something with these actors that would be interesting and entertaining. The whole cast is incredibly dedicated, and you can see that they had ambitions of becoming great actors. Some of them actually succeeded, while others, unfortunately, faded into obscurity. ()
