British television drama following a group of individuals who compete in a dangerous car race in a bid to free themselves from a government-controlled regime. After a deadly virus outbreaks and sweeps the nation, a curfew is put in place between 7pm and 7am to contain the virus and prevent citizens from succumbing to the zombie-like infected. Some become restless and begin to feel oppressed by the curfew, however, and so to earn a place in the fabled sanctuary that awaits them, a select group of brave racers set about driving their way out of the curfew zone. To be honest, I probably would have been excited about this series in my pre-adolescent years. My current (and therefore very shabby) self could not quite enjoy this mess, in which the screenwriters went ahead of their own thoughts, brutally and bloodily put an end to logic, jumping from topic to topic with the elegance of a crippled ballet dancer. The screenwriters weren't tremendously inventive either and didn't hesitate to look for ideas elsewhere, so the only thing that I found amusing was the frequent unintentional humor, which is pretty weak for an eight-part series.
