In Toccoa, Ga., 1942, a disparate group of young men begin voluntary training to become members of one of America's newest military regiments - the paratroopers. Under the harsh leadership of Lt. Sobel (David Schwimmer), members of the newly formed Easy Co. go from green civilians to some of the Army's most elite soldiers. After a long time, I decided to watch my favorite series again, and I had two reasons for it. The first one was simple - I missed it. The second reason was that I had finally read the book of the same name by Stephen Ambrose, and I wanted to compare fresh impressions from the source material with the work of the filmmakers. After the first episode, I was absolutely satisfied; the minor differences were understandable, and I would say that thanks to my knowledge of the source material, I enjoyed the episode even more than before.
