Major Winters leads Easy Company into the Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden — once home to the top officers of the Third Reich — and receives orders to take the abandoned "Eagle's Nest," Hitler's breathtaking mountaintop fortress. As German officers hand over their weapons, soldiers raid well-stocked wine cellars, snag souvenirs from residences, and endure one final tragedy when a replacement soldier cracks. Despite the fact that VE (Victory in Europe) Day has passed, Easy faces the prospect of imminent deployment to the Pacific Theater. But as the men compare "points" to see who has earned enough to go home, word arrives that the Japanese have surrendered, ending the war and dissolving Easy Company. A memorable closing vignette tells what happened to Winters and some of his men after they returned to the States. (Home Box Office)

English I would find it difficult to imagine a better ending to this series and a more dignified farewell to the soldiers of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. The tenth episode was great, its story was in sharp contrast to what the unit went through during the Siege of Bastogne, and yet I couldn't tear myself away from it. Excellent work. ()
