Curly Sue (1991)

English I always have a soft spot for movies that remind me of my childhood. So when I watch them now, I can't judge the acting or the script. With a sparkle in my eyes I too remember the curly-haired girl who was riding on the carpet and whining that her tights itch. I've loved her curls since the first time I saw her. That's why 4 stars.

The Family Man (2000)

English This movie is greatly "diminished" by its ending. It was dashed off, unoriginal, and too naive because the speech wasn't that great. Otherwise, Nicolas Cage is pretty good here in his "raw state" and Leoni has something more to her. A classic if only in a nice Christmas atmosphere.

TACHO (2010)

English I'll always be a fan of the Landas. If only for their passion and effort. The script was unrefined, but I hadn't expected anything different. The magic of 2LANDA films lies elsewhere. The film would certainly have a much higher rating if people weren't throwing boo around just because Dan has a bald head. But then I don't understand why they're looking at the bald head… Tacho is slightly worse than Kvaska in terms of quality. The English here seemed tooootally pointless. And the film could have been a lot more "heartfelt" if it had gone more in depth with the relationship between Alex and Lucka. I agree with Enspiegel's review to the greatest possible extent. For me, 3.5 stars.

Lover's Concerto (2002)

English "I fell in love. It hurts so much. But I never want the pain to stop." A film full of beautiful and unique moments and unexpected plots. I can't think of a better way to describe love. A drama that is delivered in the most natural way... drop by drop. And when the bowl is filled to the last drop, the film ends... it doesn't overflow. So perfect for me, and then some.

Teeth (2007)

English A clever short that proves Ireland just knows how to do it. Nothing like a good laugh from the heart. It's even nicer when an older person has something to laugh about. The black and white improves the atmosphere here. 4.5 stars.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

English It would probably be fair to give one less star because the first one was really better. On the other hand, this isn't just a 4-star movie for me. The Christmas atmosphere in New York is so nice and puts you in your seat. Kevin has always been and will always be my hero and those two jerks make me laugh every time. The "copied stuff" doesn't bother me in this case.

Home Alone (1990)

English Home Alone is one of my biggest favorites. It ALWAYS stops me from doing any activity and reminds me of my childhood. And there's something inside that tickles me so pleasantly. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Kevin. And as someone else wrote, it's an unpretentious movie for the whole family. I loved it as a little kid, and I think I'll love it as a grandmother too. Too bad Macaulay Culkin couldn't do anything decent after that. Some people have it backwards with fame...

Femme Fatal (2007)

English Spectacular shoot-‘em-up with style! There was no shortage of humor, originality, and killing. The crazy Ji-won was simply flawless. Too bad the American died so early... he was my favorite. 3.5 stars.

Paul (2011)

English I went to the cinema for an unplanned movie. If I had read the plot summary, I probably wouldn't have gone to see it. But then I would have missed out on an excellent comedy with a memorable alien and two cool dudes. I haven't heard so many bad words in one sentence from a one-eyed Christian woman in a long time. And if Paul ever falls down, I want to be there! Quite a brilliant film. 75%

The Adjustment Bureau (2011)

English I fell in love with the movie the moment David fell in love with Elise. The first time they met in the bathroom gave me chills. I've been falling for it ever since. The idea of the hats as a "key" to the door was extremely original. The final scene, when the lovers hugged each other and said those beautiful words to each other instead of any reaction, moved me tremendously. A film full of loving decisions and actions…
