The Green Hornet (2011)

English I've been feeling lately that I’m giving harsher reviews. I guess it's because I've gotten a whiff of South Korean filmmaking. It's set the bar pretty high. But to the rating… I like the duo of Rogen and Chou, but it hasn’t got enough action for and action film and not funny enough for a comedy. Cameron Diaz played a completely unnecessary role. I guess this was just a name to catch moviegoers at the movies. The ending was pretty much a big "humbug", so 3.5 stars.

The Resident (2011)

English The main reason to watch this is that I’m a fan of Hilary Swank. Plus I like thrillers. I have to admit, though, that I was quite confused here. The action is insane and senseless psycho, the music incredibly depressing, and the acting not that great. The atmosphere is so dramatic from the beginning that I wanted to cry. The ending is absolutely devoid of ideas and originality. Next time I'd rather watch some "failed" Canadian thriller with Shannen Doherty... at least it won't ruin my whole day. Even that one star is too much.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2007) (series)

English I'm really starting to like Belle/Hannah as time goes on. She's extraordinary, likable, and kind of awful in her own way. But she definitely doesn't lack flair. Some episodes are really very sexual, some less so. It's hard to say which I like better. Anyway, it's fun and I'm curious to see where it goes from here. After the 3rd season, I’m giving it 4.5 stars. It gets better and better..Favorite Characters: Hannah

Twilight (2008)

English I personally can't understand that it has such a low rating. I would have put money on the movie getting at least 80%. I don't think Twilight is playing at being some gritty vampire movie. The atmosphere alone suggests it's something else entirely. Fortunately, it has its die-hard fans, which is the reason why more episodes are being made. I proudly count myself among them! In my eyes, it's all about a great love story, interesting characters, and an original atmosphere.

The Clique (2008)

English A girly style book full of luxury brands and spoiled girls. Unlike most films like this, the filmmakers at least have an idea of what they're talking about. The teenage cast is quite tolerable, the music fits perfectly with the teenage atmosphere. 3.5 stars, and because of the low rating here, I’m giving it 4.

Aquamarine (2006)

English Boys believe in mega folding robots, girls believe in mermaids. It's not just a naive story, it's a story about love and great friendship. Plus, sometimes we all want to believe in a fairy tale. An average cute chick flick that has its charm... at least for some.

Please Teach Me English (2003)

English Once again an unrivaled work. Definitely a candidate for best happy ending in the last few years for me. A realistic story with a really smart clerk and a cute Elvis. In the USA they would have handled it their way. The girl would have dropped her glasses halfway through the movie, let her hair down, and the boy would have fallen in love. Except that she wouldn't want him anymore. Anyway, he'd crawl out at the end and she'd forgive him. Fortunately, Korean movies are about something deeper. 99%.

Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel (2009)

English A good choice for fans of British humor. For others, perhaps incomprehensible savagery. I'm somewhere in between and can't decide if I'm excited or if this was a mediocre film. Either way, it's a bit of a different take on sci-fi with an interesting ending. Slightly above average, maybe very average... I'll judge that next time.

Samaritan Girl (2004)

English The actual content of the film is not pretty and so neither are my feelings. I just wanted drama, so I got it. Pretty depressing, but it captured the seriousness of the matter perfectly. It's not a movie I'll watch again, but I'm glad I saw it. 3.5 stars.

Orientation Day (2010)

English This one is definitely the most boring of the "minion shorts". The grey atmosphere just doesn't go well with cute giggling yellow creatures for me. This short is about on par with the movie. Home Makeover and Banana are better than the movie.
