Citizen Kane (1941)

English One of the most respected films, which I personally wouldn't put on the pedestal of the absolute best, but it must be acknowledged that Orson Welles and the screenwriter did an absolutely incredible job. Every scene is perfectly crafted and so is the whole. Additionally, Welles was a great actor, which he showcases here in various emotional dimensions, as well as at different ages. An impressive film, but don't expect something that will completely change your life.

Solaris (1972)

English Equally difficult to grasp as "2001: A Space Odyssey," but equally interpretive, possibly even stronger. Tarkovsky's film does not rely on visual spectacle, but instead the Russian creator opted for philosophical sci-fi, where everything important unfolds through dialogue, memories, not necessarily through images. There are scenes from inside spaceships, but it remains very limited. Even so, this is how sci-fi can be filmed, mainly because the narrative is no less powerful.

Silent Running (1972)

English It may seem like a quite boring movie because there isn't really much happening, which would be a bit faster. On the other hand, it is necessary to realize that this movie definitely has something to say and it has the great Bruce Dern in the lead role, who shows his mastery here. What will enchant you though, is the captivating effects and brilliantly conceived technology, which are simply amazing for the year 1972. It's not "2001: A Space Odyssey", but in this regard, it will still dazzle you.

Axeman at Cutter's Creek (2013)

English "Axeman at Cutter's Creek" is a horror movie that manages to easily blend in because in the amount of films being produced, it simply doesn't stand a chance to succeed. It is a standard slasher film, with a lazy, simplistic campfire story, and then it's just about killing as much as possible. The more boring characters, the better. However, certainly not for the viewer who has to endure this.

Solipsist (2012)

English A visually interesting film that offers something extra thanks to its concept and unique ideas that you simply haven't seen anywhere else. It may not be a lot, but in the end, it turns out that it's not even much. A somewhat interesting spectacle, but you probably won't be completely blown away by it.

The Bank Dick (1940)

English "I definitely liked 'It's a Gift' more, but Fields just can't be taken away, he's just the right kind of fool and he's willing to do anything for a laugh. His situational and verbal humor are just excellent, and at times he will amaze you with what he can say, and with the expression on his face as he says it. It's definitely not entertainment for everyone, but once this fat guy captivates you, he won't let you go."

Ruin (2011)

English An incredibly pumped-up film, where it's not even about what it actually tells, but primarily about the fact that it is properly pumped-up. There is excellent camera work here, and all of it in 3D animation, which is incredibly detailed and simply fantastic. A wonderful example of how, when it wants to, 3D can look truly great.

Electroshock (2011) (student film)

English It looks like a movie about a superhero, which could have something in common with "The Incredibles", which is actually true because even in this case it's about relationships. It is presented interestingly, with humor, and sometimes this 3D animation is really beneficial. The finale is entertaining.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)

English "Friday the 13th Part 4" is a classic sequel that doesn't have any groundbreaking ideas, it simply follows the familiar formula and tries to keep coming up with new ways for the beloved character Jason to murder without any deeper meaning. Don't expect any mythology, just the effort to deliver to the viewers what the previous films did. The main question is then, will anyone survive.

Forbidden Planet (1956)

English In today's time, one would say that it's just something "Star Trek", but it's necessary to realize that this film was here even before "Star Trek". For its time, there are incredibly beautiful effects and of course, the fact that it's in color helps the movie too. Leslie Nielsen was quite a handsome guy when he was young, and he is fantastic as the team leader. A great sci-fi from a time when one would think that something visually stunning like this wouldn't even be possible to make.
